'A Reminder to Self'
'Dive deep' is a stylistic womenswear top developed and designed during my Apparel Design and Development Diploma. (2018-2019).
During this time, my journey in Apparel design and Textiles had just begun, and I was thrilled to create my first ever design.
Coming from a traditional family, most of my family and extended relations are in fields of science, engineering,
medicine or law. I was the first in my family to express a strong desire to pursue a creative career. And it took a lot of
courage for me to embark upon this journey. I focused less on proving myself to others, as my loved ones always wished the
best for me. More importantly, I wished to remind myself of my passions everyday, and escape all doubt and uncertainty
that would come my way.
'Dive deep' is the first wearable I ever created, and I named it so as a reminder to myself, to never stop believing in and
diving deep into my passion for fashion. 'Dive deep' is when I had finally begun doing my favorite thing in the world -
creating,
and I did it in my favorite color.
